WOW time flies when you're having fun....well, maybe not fun, but time certainly flies! Kellie has been "freed" by her van and gets out frequently now. Getting out of her shell gives her a brighter perspective--she spent night before last laying in the yard with friends, painting! She LOVES it outdoors! Seems like she is always cold, so the 105 degree days we have been having suit her just fine.Kellie found out a few days ago that her Medicaid hadn't even been FILED!! So, all this time wasted waiting was truly wasted! Now, it has definately been filed and so the wait really begins. Kellie's dad spent the few days preceeding Father's Day, in the hospital--Kellie went back up to the hospital to see him and got to spend some time there. Code Yellow had to be taken care of and Nurse Christine got the hospital to give them a bed and a private room to take care of things----
A person in our neighborhood has volunteered to work with Kellie. She is a teacher and also a voc rehab person, so skilled in the things Kellie needs. Praise God for providing this--NO charge to Kellie. She needs things right now to lift her up--to encourage her. She has her down days and it is particularly discouraging when you feel like you are falling through the cracks of our medical care system! Man, if Obama is supposed to be fixing the healthcare system, I sure wish he would speed it up!!
People from far and wide have been donating money to fund Kellie's therapy, and even though it has been several thousand dollars, it is just a drop in the bucket towards the therapy she needs. Father, I just pray, open your windows in heaven and shower down on us the resources and funds to get Kellie into rehab! They say, the first 12 months after a cord injury is the prime time for getting back the use of your legs--Kellie needs to be spending time working NOT laying in bed!!! Father send your people!!!
With all the materials it takes to care for Kellie, her room looks like a horder! I pray that you send us an organizer---I am a tosser, thus I maintain my clutter by continually throwing or giving stuff away--well, we NEED all of this stuff and it needs to be organized!!! And my stairmaster--well, it has become a clothes hanger--I so need that moved to the upstairs loft--Father send us some strong men to make that an easy job! Kellie would love the room and the ability to move her bed where she can see her encouraging notes..but we can't do it alone! :-)
I continue to ask you to pray for peace over my home, protection, and that His Holy Spirit reside there. I also continue to ask you to send your workers--those with a vision for Kellie and who can be encouraging in the Lord. Kellie has tried the last two weeks to go to church and distraction has gotten the best of her. Please pray that she get plenty of sleep Saturday night and that she not be overwhelmed by the thought of attending church.
I pray that God blesses all those people who have given items that we needed as a household. Toilet paper, paper towels laundry detergent...our neighborhood association has been amazing! Bless those who give Father and especially, those expecting nothing in return, Father I ask that you bless them 100 fold!! In Jesus' mighty name!!
