Members of TEAM KELLIE (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_212673785418727) are coming together all over the country and world to send their love and support to Kellie Mandley, one of the most amazing and strong women around.
Kellie Ann Mandley was in an automobile accident on April 11, 2011 on I-35 in Jarrell, TX (about 40 min north of Austin). She suffered injuries to her legs, neck, head, and spinal cord, which have limited her feeling and mobility below the shoulders. She has shown great strength and positivity early in her recovery, constantly surpassing her doctors' expectations!
Currently at Seton Williamson Hospital in Round Rock, TX, Kellie has been receiving gifts and letters of prayer and support from people she doesn't even know around the world that we have used to decorate her room in hopes that she is constantly reminded of the massive amount of support she has and of the power of prayer. Volunteers at the hospital have been overwhelmed by the number of letters she has received, delivering about 30 new letters every day, and sometimes needing a box to hold them all. We fully believe that with the continued prayer from those who care about her, Kellie will make it through this speed bump in life and continue to live her life glorifying God for his grace and unconditional love. This group is being organized to keep everyone who cares about Kellie aware and up-to-date on her progress and recovery.
Over the next couple months, Kellie will be receiving care and treatment therapy from several different places. We want to make sure everyone knows how to get in touch with Kellie to send her your support. We also want to bring everyone together in an effort to reach out for support for Kellie and her family. We all know how medical and hospital bills can add up quickly and how it can add unwanted stress to the patient and their family in a time when focus needs to be concentrated on the patient and their recovery.
Several of Kellie's friends and family are working on fund raising activities, such as "TEAM KELLIE" T-shirts or wristbands, a 5k / FunRun / etc..., a spaghetti dinner, or something of the like. If anyone has any experience with set-up, coordination, or if anyone has any contacts that might be willing and able to assist us with any fund raising activities, please contact us. Also, if anyone has anyone in their personal or professional network with any ties to spinal cord injuries, spinal cord treatment, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, rehabilitation facilities, etc.,
please contact us. This group is open to anyone who is dedicated to supporting Kellie and her family during her recovery. The prayer and support up until now have been incredible and have done wonders in lifting Kellie's spirits and keeping her motivated to get through this.
Please continue to keep Kellie and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
ONE LOVE!
